Vaginoplasty

("Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery" or "Vaginal Tightening")

Description

Vaginoplasty is designed to correct the problem of stretched vaginal muscles; a condition that commonly results from childbearing. This surgical procedure will tone the muscle and supportive tissue so that you will have greater contraction strength and control. Vaginoplasty will also help to enhance one’s sexual experiences once again, and may be combined with other rejuvenative procedures such as labiaplasty and hymenoplasty.

Technology

(Prior to surgery, women are required to take basic blood, urine, and pregnancy tests. Your doctor will discuss this with you during your consultation visit.) At the time of surgery, your surgeon will join the stretched muscles at the back of the vagina and shorten with dissolvable stitches; the unwanted skin is then removed. This method helps to tighten the vaginal muscles and surrounding soft tissues through the reduction of excess vaginal lining. Vaginoplasty will restore a woman’s vagina by transforming supporting structures to a “pre-pregnancy” state. Patients who emerge from this type of surgery should notice an immediate decrease in the diameter of the vagina as well as an increase in the tightness of vaginal muscles.
