Description
A forehead lift raises the eyebrows and upper eyelids to soften frown lines on the forehead and between the eyebrows. This procedure softens the angry or tired look caused by a wrinkled brow. Most forehead lift patients are between ages 40 and 60 years old.
Length

Side Effects
Temporary swelling, numbness, headaches, and bruising. Possible itching and hair loss may result from the traditional method.
Recovery
Back to work: 7 to 10 days (usually sooner for endoscopic method). More strenuous activity: several weeks. Full recovery: 2 to 3 weeks. Limit sun exposure for several months.
Risks
Injury to facial nerve, which may result in loss of movement. Possible reaction to anesthesia and risk of asymmetry. Formation of a broad scar and hair loss along the scar edges are rare.
Results
Usually 5 to 10 years.
Technology
The muscles and tissues that cause the furrowing or drooping are removed or altered to smooth the forehead, raising the eyebrows and minimizing the frown lines. A forehead lift can be performed in two different ways. During the conventional surgical method, the incision is hidden just behind the hairline, while the endoscopic method is done with a viewing instrument (endoscope) that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions. Both techniques yield similar results of smoother forehead skin and a more animated appearance.
