Many people undergo Botox®, collagen injections, or fat injections in order to gain a younger and more youthful appearance. These procedures typically produce successful results. However, in order to maintain a refreshed image, regular treatments are required. Unlike traditional collagen and fat injections that last from about three to six months, the effect of Artecoll® can last more than 10 years, permanently remaining in a person's body. This product is commonly used for lip augmentation, and can also be used to treat folds and wrinkles of the face, acne scars, and other skin disorders. Pending FDA approval, Artecoll® has been proven safe with less than 0.1percent of incidence rates reported.
Taking only about 20 minutes to perform, a doctor should inject Artecoll® at the dermal-subdermal junction level of the skin. However, the full effects will not be evident until about three months after the initial procedure.
If the full result is still not apparent at that time, a second treatment may be needed. Once the results are fully revealed, it should last the patient for years. Due to the low incidence of sensitivity reaction to Artecoll®, a skin test is deemed optional.
A French patient shows her pronounced ‘smile lines’ before treatment, right, when she was 49.
Eight years later, the Artecoll is still keeping the lines at bay.
"The advantage of Artecoll® is its longevity versus other injectable treatments."
Since its first use for tissue augmentation in 1989, many patients have had a high success rate with Artecoll® implant injections. Unfortunately, just like collagen and fat injections, it cannot stop the aging process. Wrinkles and creases will continue to form as we grow older. Yet, the advantage of Artecoll® is its longevity versus other injectable treatments. Before considering any cosmetic procedure, consult with a plastic surgeon. Even though Artecoll® is not yet available in the United States, you can still consult a plastic surgeon and inquire about its availability. You can also talk to a medical professional about which cosmetic procedure help you achieve a younger, healthier-looking face.
